Cellulite Reduction and Treatment Advice

Although not the problem it once was, Cellulites still causes distress to many women who have additional fat in the tissues of their outer thighs, behind and tummy. Males can have cellulites too although they are ordinarily whiter or several shades lighter than their natural skin color. When there is fluid in the layers of skin, it becomes a problem because embedded fats and other poisons become trapped and do not get washed out unlike a person with good blood circulation who will have smooth skin. The tissues with the embedded fats and toxins become hard over time producing the bumpy ‘orange peel’ effect called cellulites.

How these cellulites will look and form depends on the individual’s genetic make-up, the type of life they lead and their weight. Because there are different types of cellulites, even active and fit individuals can suffer with them even if they are not overweight, including the likes of dancers and runners because the cellulites are found contained in the muscle itself. The cellulites that cause the most problems are the hard or solid types because they bind themselves to the muscular tissues and often affect more sporty persons. The easier cellulites to see are the carbonated forms and while they are more repulsive because they may appear to hang from the skin and affect larger muscle areas, they are considerably easier to remove.

For women, who are the most likely candidates for cellulites, their appearance can begin from as early as fourteen years of age and will step by step worsen as they age. Frequently, cellulites occur because a woman has begun taking the birth control pill or has just given birth and even individuals who have sustained injuries can develop cellulites.

Having the correct diet and plenty of physical exercise is still believed to be the best way to control cellulites as exercise will improve the circulation which in turn improves the visual aspect of the skin. Although all forms exercise can help, it is the diet that needs to be more particular: one that is detoxifying and contains plenty of fruit and vegetables. Coffee and soft drinks should be avoided where practicable but wholegrain foods are definitely advocated.

It is believed by some that spicy foods may bestow much in the appearance of cellulites but so far this seems to be untested and so not proved. Nonetheless, the same cannot be said for smoking and alcohol which should be avoided as both assist in the build-up of toxins in the body. Although cellulites are not of necessity formed by a high fat diet fat is difficult to flush out of the system and can lead to the cellulites formation so a reduced-fat diet is preferable.

Although they cannot totally get rid of cellulites, cellulite creams are quite productive in treating and concealing cellulite. The creams work by making the skin more elastic and contain alpha-hydroxyl acid which doesn’t actually get rid of the cellulite but helps to conceal it. Water therapy is also proving to be effective because it seems to make cellulites become less visible as it withdraws poisons in the body as well as fat and also tending in correct digestion and blood blood circulation.
